Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing material flow from intake into the stockroom, handling, storage, picking work orders into kits, issuing material to sales orders, attending to internal customers material needs, and ensure overall quality and speed of service to support the site’s business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize, manage performance, and direct the activities of stockroom personnel to ensure that they receive, store and issue material as needed to support site GOALS SUCH AS ON TIME DELIVERY TO CUSTOMER (INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL) ACCORDING TO PRODUCTION SCHEDULE. SUPPORT TO ACHIEVE goals for department and direct reports, oversee daily materials operations.
  • Ensure that key value creation processes related to stockroom material movement using Oracle are documented on procedures, implemented and have resources trained to comply with. Develop plans to increase the speed of material flow and reduce inventory levels.
  • Improve inventory accuracy by execution of Cycle Count Process. Establish procedures and documentation for physical inventories. Examine methods of facilitating accurate counts.
  • Investigate and solve problems resulting from shortages/delays to ensure that production is up and running with minimal downtime.
  • Deploy/improve visual management in all stockroom locations by practicing 5S, Stock Replenishment policies
  • Support conversion of material replenishment from Bulk locators to Default or supermarket locators, using MIN MAX, SS or KANBAN
  • Monitor and develop scheduling and inventory control techniques compatible with Lean Principles.
  • Resolve discrepancies between inventory and stock-control records.
  • Plan the layout and design of the storeroom locations, considering factors such as stock turnover, size and weight to ensure optimum utilization of space and economy of motion.
  • Communicate with all site personnel and levels of management in planning deliveries of material to meet expectations, and make recommendations regarding non-usable, slow-moving and excess stock or opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure safe operation of material handling equipment in accordance with policy and guidelines. Be aware of and put into practice health and safety procedures.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Trains employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
  • Drives FIFO inventory process, stacking pattern adherence and picking from correct bays.
  • Enforces housekeeping and 5S expectations to warehouse team.
  • Conducts shift huddles to communicates daily action plans, company news and safety alerts.

Educational Requirements & Experience:

  • Required: Bachelors in Supply Chain, Business Administration, etc. (4 year degree) Field of Study/Area of Experience:
  • Rquired 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with increasing levels of responsibilities including supervision and management of direct labor resources and physical inventory.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience in an Manufacturing and accomplished results of improving inventory accuracy and reduction of Turn Around Times for intake and kitting. Also preferred experience in using Oracle ERP system.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Self-directed individual with the ability to manage complex problems and multiple priorities
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with and influence people from all levels of the organization as well as external contacts
  • The position requires close attention to detail, strong problem solving and analysis skills and knowledge of manufacturing planning processes
  • Must also be proficient in MS office applications with particular focus in Excel as well as internal computer systems
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detailed-oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks.
  • Possess conceptual understanding of inventory control requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis
  • Must have extensive coordination experience in a multi team environment.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office suite of applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with Oracle software desired.
  • Ability to drive relentless root cause analyses
  • Lean Manufacturing experience, Six Sigma and/or Lean Certification preferred
