Job description: The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one (1) regular, full-time position in the class of Principal Civil Engineer at the Department Community Services.
To plan, organize and direct the work of professional, technical and office support staff of an assigned division in the Planning, Resources and Public Works Department. To coordinate activities in the area of project management and construction; performs highly complex engineering work; and other related work as assigned. The incumbent reports to the Assistant Director of Planning, Resources and Public Works.
Education: Graduation from college or a university with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering; AND
Experience: Five (5) years of full-time experience as a registered Civil Engineer performing difficult and complex civil engineering projects. Two years of this experience must be in management capacity. A Masters Degree may be substituted for one year of experience.
License: Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers;(Non-California applicants must be registered as Civil Engineers in the State of residence, meet the five-year experience requirement as a registered civil engineer, and must obtain registration from the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers within nine (9) months of hire).
