We are excited to add an Staff Electrical Engineer to our team in our Boise office. The staff engineer will work at the direction of project engineers applying various design engineering techniques, methods, and support to deliver successful water resource design and design-build related projects. The idea candidate will have 1 – 5 years of electrical engineering experience. Technical Knowledge and Qualifications Requirements: * Fundamental electrical engineering theory * Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) * Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) a plus * Passed FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam or scheduled to take FE exam in near future * Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and Access programs * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Able to handle shifting and multiple priorities and work as a team member in a diverse work force * Willingness to learn and accept responsibility, comply with safety rules and regulations, work efficiently, effectively and independently * Willingness to travel (estimated at 15-25% of the time, average) Interest in, or experience with more than one of the following: * PLC controls design and programming * Design, configuration and operation of computer based control systems * Power generation control and protection * Distribution power systems design and operations * Substations design and operations * Design of SCADA and communication systems * Generation excitation and governing controls * Power System Modeling using PowerTools, Aspen, EasyPower, or similar modeling software Company Bio: McMillen Jacobs Associates is a full-service environmental, engineering, and construction firm in the water resources, hydropower, fisheries, transportation, and heavy civil underground markets.
