Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, equipment, buildings, grounds and utility systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Schedule repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Set-ups, maintains, troubleshoots electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic machines.
  • Develop and coordinate preventative maintenance schedule for machines including performing any minor repairs and maintenance on machinery and buildings.
  • Establishes, modifies and maintains programming of equipment.
  • Plans, develops and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations and minimize operating costs.
  • Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with engineers and management.
  • Confer with management, engineering and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Flexible in shifts worked including Saturdays.
  • Follows prescribed safety policies and regulations.
  • Read manuals and drawing to troubleshoot and assemble machinery.
  • Full-time position as defined by JELD-WEN’s Management Agreement.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees and indirectly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
