Job description: Overview

We are seeking an Electronics Technician in Colorado Springs to provide Mission Essential support under the Consolidated Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) Modification, Maintenance, & Operations (CAMMO) contract. The CAMMO contract maintains the requirement of operational performance through a consolidated service of operations, operation & site support, organizational & depot maintenance, sustainment, modifications and factory/launch compatibility testing for the AFSCN resulting in reduced Operations and Maintenance (O&M) costs. The CAMMO contract requires employees to perform mission essential functions for high consequence DoD missions during contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemic, or other emergency situations.

In order to respond to changing circumstances, applicants must be willing to remain flexible with their work schedule. Flexibility includes, but is not limited to, adjusting to changes to increase efficiency; covering shifts for personnel who are absent; and willingly adapting to a dynamic 24X7X365 work environment that may require extended shifts and/or lock downs. The Colorado Springs work locations includes Schriever Air Force Base and both Prime and Peraton work locations.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do…

  • You will perform TCC Technician duties by performing and evaluating all PWS specified organizational and depot level Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment activities
  • You will perform additional duties as assigned (Technical Orders, Safety, HAZMAT, TMDE, tools, vehicle monitor duties, Logistics and Supply, and e.i)
  • You will receive initial instruction, or advice from supervisor to perform operations and organizational level maintenance responsibilities for mission equipment identified in the CAMMO PWS for SAFB
  • You will assist with Depot Level Maintenance responsibilities for mission equipment identified in the CAMMO PWS for SAFB
  • You will perform recurring Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) and Service on mission equipment identified in the CAMMO PWS independently
  • You will perform user account management for ESD and perform system maintenance to include network back-ups, file restores, PMIs, and testing
  • You will support OAS maintenance to include system restoral, archiving data, and password administration
  • Comply with SAFB security directives and cipher lock/combo lock requirements, all safety requirement, and all HAZMAT and MSDS requirements and use and maintain PPE
  • You will use standardized procedures, and applicable examples, perform Sys Admin tasks, unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and analysis for supported mission equipment
  • You will assist with performing organizational level software and firmware maintenance
  • You will assist with installation, checkout, and de-install of changes/updates to supported mission systems, with an understanding of previous operational failures and modifications
  • You will extract and compile engineering data from manuals or test results to identify errors or inconsistencies
  • You will provide support for EDLM/UDLM maintenance as required
  • You will complete all CEUs within 3 year requirement
  • You will assist with maintaining and documenting training records and updates to the Master Task Listing (MTL)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • You have a High School diploma with 0-3 years equivalent experience
  • You can obtain a SEC+ certification, within 3 months from start date or currently have one
  • You have 0-2 years system administration experience
  • Are capable of lifting 35lbs unassisted
  • You possess a current DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Mission Communication Segment equipment
  • Experience using Troubleshooting work-cards
  • Experience Supervising communications-electronics technicians
  • Computer and Network Component knowledge
  • Experience with communications-electronics equipment maintenance and operations
  • Experience with Air Force communication networks and mission control centers, especially at Schriever AFB is highly desirable
  • Experience performing customer service for the Department of Defense
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work harmoniously in a team environment
